Lübeck Gardens & Parks

As Lübeck is dominated by its location at the water, between forrests and in addition, by green areas and parks, there are quite many possibilites to enjoy nature and relax. One of the most popular destinations, however, is the seaside resort Lübeck-Travemünde.

About 20 km away from the city center, there is the seaside resort Lübeck-Travemünde. Bought by Lübeck in 1320, it is now an area of the city. Because of its beautiful beaches, it is not only a famous destination for people to spend their weekends there, but also one of the oldest seaside resorts at the Baltic Sea that is really popular for tourists.

Along the banks of the rivers Trave and Wakenitz as well as those of the Elbe-Lübeck Canal, there are many beautiful ways for spending you leisure time and for walking as well as bicyle tours. Also at the banks of the Wakenitz River, there has been the outdoor river swimming pool at the "Falkenwiese" since the end of the 19th century.
