If you want to buy a present for your friends from Lübeck, the world-known speciality, the marzipan, is a really good idea. There are many variations of this great sweet to choose from. The most popular places that produce it are the cafes Niederegger and
Carstens.

Within the course of time, Lübeck has established as one of the major cities for shopping in Northern Germany. The main shopping streets where many fashion shops as well as department stores are located are Breite Strasse, Königsstrasse and Sandstrasse as well as their side streets. In Königsstrasse, there even is a shopping center, the Königs-Passage.

Other shopping streets in the city center are for example Untertrave, Holstenstrasse, Mühlenstrasse and Große Burgstrasse.
